1. Please give a brief history of the band, including current line up:
A: we started about a year ago, fucking around in our apartment. travis, bryan and nick have been in bands together for years and they were messing around recording shit on the computer. they told me to come over and scream. i did and for fuck sake was born. our current line up is all original- Chantal (me) vocals, travis on guitar, bryan on bass and vocals, nick on drums.
2. Discography:
A: a six song EP in the works through the mexican label Noize Attack Records, as well as our full length through Unrepentant Records in the US and Grindhead records in Austrailia due out in mid 2009
3. Has any band member played in other bands, if so what?
A: Travis, Nick and Bryan were all in Rotting Stiffs and West Coast Stiffs. (Nick is still in Rotting Stiffs, check out their myspace!!) Nick and Bryan were in Crippled America and Bryan was in Lethal Dose. with plenty of other short-lived bands sprinkled througout. This is my first band.
4. Describe your sound.
A: we've been described as mankind? meets Blatz. we're anywhere from street punk to speed metal. we just play what we want to listen to.
5. Do you do any covers in your live set, if so what? and why?
A: We do braineaters by the misfits just because its a really fun sing along that everyone knows.
6. If you could see any band play live, either of the past or present who would it be?
A: crass, dirt, toy dolls, original dead kennedys, original germs....we've all pretty much been able to see/meet/play with all the bands weve loved growing up.
7.What is the favourite song (and what band is it by) of each member of the band?
A: Travis: fight the good fight-Broken Bones Chantal: After the dance- Dirt Bryan: A national acrobat-Black Sabbath Nick: Attitude by Sepultura this was a really hard question for all of us!!! we all love so much music it was hard to narrow it down to one song.
8.What are your musical influences?
A: we're influenced by everything. punk, crust, thrash, grind, metal, country, big band, reggeton....
9. What influences your lyrics? Humour? Politics? Personal Experiences? etc.
A: our lyrics are usually inspired by things we think on a daily basis. we have a lot of working class ideals in our songs, because thats what we all are and what we'll always be. cheers to beers is based on our typical weekends together and memories of going to shows at the showcase. (RIP) two faced fuck was inspired by a specific event.
10. Punk music has long been associated with Anarchy. There are many interpretations of that word. What does Anarchy mean to you?
im sure it means something different to all of us but since im doing this interview ill tell you how i feel about it: anarchy is what? no government right? so it would be awesome if we could all live like that, self sufficent, careing for everyone as our own...but probably 80% of americans would never be able to handle that. so its not going to happen. in the less literal sense, anarchists have been associated with being non-conformist. Id say our music is closer to that. sieze fate by the throat is a perfect example of that. we're always told what to do, what to think, what to say....but you dont have to listen to what your being told. you can take control of yourself and your mind. challenge whats being beat into you and think for yourself. thats what an anarchist is in the most stripped down sense.
11. What would you say your bands best gig was?
A: we're still a really new band, but we just played a show in anaheim at the doll hut. we had a fucking blast!! any show where we get drunk and fuck shit up is perfect in my book.
12. Future plans, gigs and releases:
we've got our EP being released in mexico and our full lenth coming out both in spring of 09, we're really excited and been working really hard on the album. we want to make sure we get it right. we have alot of shows coming up, make sure to check out our myspace!!
