Cowboy Prostitutes - Let me have your heart
Cowboy Prostitutes describe themselves as being difficult to categorise. The blurb on the back of the promo CD says 'Sleaze people like them and so does hard rockers and metal heads; the punks shouldn't like them but they can't stay away from their gigs and most of the MTV generation wankers still check them out daily.'After this description I was keen to see what I would categorise them as! The band are from Sweden and formed in 2005. Let me Have your Heart is their second album and is released on the Sunny Bastards label. This also made me interested in listening to Cowboy Prostitutes because Sunny Bastards have put out some great oi! and punk stuff like The Eastside Boys, Stomper 98 and Towerblocks among others. Not sure what to expect I played the CD and found that the songs are unashamedly dirty sleaze rock n' roll in the vein of rock bands like Motley Crue, Hanoi Rocks and Faster Pussycat.The songs are mostly fast paced with some punky riffs and gritty vocals, sung with a sneer! The first track, Outrageous, drags you in with its catchy chorus and is probably my favourite song on the album. Girls Like You is also one of the best songs on the album, as is What Shall I Do?. Now, it is fair to say that Cowboy Prostitutes are not really my cup of tea being an oi! fan but I did enjoy this CD for what it is: fun, in your face glam/sleaze rock.
