Dead Cats Dead Rats - Riff
Dead Cats Dead Rats are a 3 piece band from Massachussetts. Odd name for a band I thought! I've since found out that that is the name of a song by The Doors and that would point to The Doors being an influence of these guys, although I'd say that Nirvana are one of their main influences. Dead Cats Dead Rats are a grunge/punk band who remind me very much of the Seattle grunge scene of the early 90s.They have a hint of The Misfits to them at times too. Riff is a 9 track cd, their second album. Grunge is not my thing at all to be honest but I do recognise that these lads have talent and are good at what they do and the CD is well produced. Songs that jumped out at me were Subterranean and Sit on my Facebook. The CD is not especially well packaged which is a shame as it would have been good to have some lyrics to read to get more of a feel of what Dead Cats Dead Rats are about.
